Kundalini | Yoga Supper Club

  • Koukoulee 120 Ocean View Road Waiheke Island, Auckland, 1081 New Zealand (map)

Our wholesome Yoga Supper Club is back on the last Friday of every month. Join us for a yoga class followed by a nourishing, plant-based and casual dinner with good chats and lovely people. Our first one of the season will take place on 31 May.

For our first supper club of the season we have planned a Kundalini class with Victoria Rush. Kundalini Yoga is the science of focusing the powers of body, mind and spirit toward one objective: the realisation of peace, happiness and freedom in this life.

A typical Kundalini yoga class includes breathwork, kriya, meditation, mantra and relaxation. A kriya is a specific set of exercises (often dynamic) that generate energy, organise that energy and deliver you to a specific energetic state — particularly one of greater awareness. The kriyas work on strengthening your nervous system, balancing your glandular system, purifying the body and calming the mind. Also within the practice are built-in moments of stillness where we sit quietly and awaken to our inner self. The breathwork within the kriyas is so powerful that it starts to strip away the layers that veil our consciousness, and in the sweet moments between poses we can sense the fullness of who we truly are.

The very nature of what we do is to awaken the energy of consciousness, to practice in a way that sheds light on our self-imposed limitations, and invites us to think out of the box and develop our intuitive mind. Being able to live from our intuitive mind is one of the main goals of a Kundalini practitioner.

Kundalini is life itself, “the force that through the green fuse drives the flower,” and the basis for all healing, creative genius, and personal transformation.

About Victoria

Victoria has over twenty years experience of practising and teaching yoga.  Her journey with Kundalini yoga began in 2014 and she found it to be one of the most powerful transformational tools. A long time Waiheke resident, our little island has become home for Victoria and after a little break away she is back to stay.
